Why am I part of Kezi? “I am part of Kezi because it is a pleasure to operating in a working environment where nothing is impossible and pro-activeness is not a once in a lifetime occurrence. Being surrounded by the best individuals in the industry inspires one to lift your own game and show what you are worth. Furthermore, the professional manner in which the Kezi management deal with staff plays a big role in the positive attitudes and success that the company so frequently achieves. To finish off, I knew that if I wanted to grow more and improve on my skills and become one of the best in the business to fly under the Kezi flag will be a wise option.”

As mentioned in previous blogs, writing is not really my scene and I’d much rather put a comprehensive brief together and let someone else come up with the editorial magic. But that said, this time I actually had something on my mind, an intriguing element of business and something that Kezi Communications (in my opinion) has done well to manage properly………Each company regardless of the industry you’re in are made up out of different personalities, likes, dislikes, hobbies and overall way of thinking, when you are painter or medical docter this might not be a challenge but try a communications company where the majority of your daily tasks include…..well communication, meetings, briefings, telephonic conversations and endless e-mails back and forth from 6 in the morning till late at night. People deal with things in different ways, I for example would hands down lose the prize for the most gentle, understanding supportive, praising employee (Keri-Ann would give me a run for my money and Jess also right up there though)….HR Managers generally do not like me. And when standing back and looking at it from an objective angle they have no reason to be my biggest fan, allow me to explain: I struggle to sit down and try to see where someone else is coming from, I get very nervous when people cry and hardly know what to say or how to react, the volume of my voice makes it sound as if I am upset especially when there is a difference in opinion, I do not have the best telephone manners (with my clients I do though) and the list goes on. I challenged myself over the last few weeks to sit back and observe, something I am not very good at in general and It’s amazing to see how people reach their objectives in different manners. Some shout and scream others use a hard sell and some just have to show up to get what he/she wants.

Don’t worry I am going somewhere with this…….the point I’d like to make is that no matter what your strengths are and how you go about things it is really the other person that you have to understand ( a client a fellow employee or anyone in a personal capacity), because once you understand how and why they react to certain scenarios and issues in a certain manner….your side of the dialogue or your response will be able to hit home. Hence the fact that in business it is so key for management to pair us with the right fit…..a short story and then I’m done….a while ago we had a potential client lined up. A make or break meeting however was schedule to take place and the Kezi contingent literally had 2 hours to get their heads around it, knowing that I do not know as much as I’d like about the client, the brief or the expectations I go in hard in the meeting and act like someone selling a big green clean machine oppose to a PR service or solution…the potential client calls my bluff and I leave wide-eyed (luckily we had the rest of the team there to pull this one through), the fact of the matter is that this would not have been a good fit, we just don’t match (and she called my bluff obviously). I always say “Horses for courses”.

SnapComms – You beauty!

So a secret is unveiled late 2009. Kezi has secured an exclusive deal to distribute an internal communications programme called SnapComms throughout the whole of Africa and the islands. Everyone at Kezi jumps, high fives……and are very excited and proud of Keri-Ann who secretly plotted away on the task of securing the deal.

So the MD harasses everyone until we’ve listened to Chris from SnapComms in New Zealand to explain to us how it works, she literally forces us to read hundreds of slides on the product and then finally we get to download the demo to see what this much-anticipated programme actually entails.

I get very excited and see the millions rolling in (because I’m a big picture person), before even touching a button. Then I get summoned to explore SnapComms and It’s mechanics which results in a few weird Desktop Alerts going out to my fellow Kezians, but still I dig deeper to understand the complexity and the simplicity of the product that holds our riches………finally I send out a proper SnapComms Quiz to all the Kezians….. one about Valentines Day nogal.

Slowly but surely I start understanding why it is that people sing the praises of SnapComms. Aurelle manages the internal communication function with SnapComms as vehicle conveying all messages…and it works like a BOMB (in a small business structure with very few employees). Can you imagine the impact on huge corporations?

In the meantime I get appointed as the PR Account Manager for SnapComms and start familiarising myself with various tools and functions of the programme that even furthers my positive thinking.

We are in phase one of creating awareness around the product and signing up major clients in South Africa and the rest of Africa but the ground work has been laid and now it is full steam ahead. The wonderful thing about working with SnapComms and promoting it through various channels is the fact that you sit with a sleek, professional product/brand that you believe in. It makes it so much easier to get the message across if you believe the credible “story” you are telling.

To cut a long story short, I have seen what SnapComms has done for a small company like Kezi Communications. I can only imagine what it can do for yours.

SnapComms you beauty!

“Kezi Communications SNAP It Up”

Kezi Communications, listed as one of South Africa’s Top 20 PR Consultancies in 2008 and 2009, is now also the exclusive distributor of SnapComms in Africa, South Africa and the islands.

Snap What?

SnapComms is an innovative internal communications tool designed by New Zealand based company Snap Communications. Designed to make your day at the office easier than you have ever imagined it to be if you are in sales/HR/marketing, SnapComms is a must-have, a need-to-have and a LET ME HAVE IT product.

We Snapped

“When Kezi first found out about SnapComms, we knew we were onto something. We immediately saw the potential of this product as an employee communications tool – within our own company and definitely for companies across Africa and SA. We literally snapped the product up from under people’s noses – signing an exclusive deal with Snap - and we are proud to announce that SnapComms is now part of the diverse, multi-faceted Kezi brand,” says an excited and enthusiastic Keri-Ann Clark, MD of Kezi.

Keri- Ann continues “Kezi is known as a ‘can do, just did’ Public Relations company. Dynamic, constantly changing yet consistent in service, we are confident that being the exclusive resellers and African distributor of Kezi Snaps (our name for the product) in Africa will allow us to expand the services we offer to our clients. No other PR company has ever offered an internal communications product like SnapComms as part of their service before.”

Why SnapComms?

Internal Communication is key. By combining interactive screensavers, scrolling newsfeeds, desktop notifications, user generated e-magazines, pop-up staff quizzes and surveys, employee blogs, discussion forums and helpdesks, SnapComms will make your company’s internal communication a breeze. We heard it can also bake cookies, but we haven’t tried that function yet.

Keeping Time has never been easier. Kezi Snaps offers employee communications tools that let you schedule your in-house communications. Repetition options help ensure message cut through for significant internal communications (in other words, you can gently remind your colleagues until they snap onto it).

Target Specific Communication. Kezi Snap offers internal communications tools that allow you to target different groups of staff in diverse ways.

User-friendly and Easy-to-use. The Kezi Snaps member of staff communications tools are user friendly and connect with other tools (like the intranet/Share Point), letting staff click through to them swiftly and effortlessly.

You Can’t Afford Not To Have It

Kezi will be the exclusive reseller and African distributor of Kezi Snaps in Africa (and non-exclusive in Egypt and Morocco, where SnapComms has already taken over). Buying it from us is as easy as 1-2-3 and we will even show you how to use it! There are two options for companies when they want to buy Kezi Snaps for themselves:

  • The Snap Tools can be bought and managed by clients themselves. This means that the client receives the package, receives training on how to operate SnapComms and they will be managed and updated internally. Kezi calls this option “The Once-off Sale”.
  • Alternatively, a proposal can be adjusted to potential clients of Kezi, where the product is not only sold to the client, but Kezi also manages, writes the content and regulates Kezi Snaps within the client’s company. This will be an ongoing service that Kezi provides to client and is called the “Buy the Snap package”.
